Inspired by Monet: Year 3 Gets Creative Outdoors 🎨
ABS Basel Year 3 recently explored the work of Claude Monet and the Impressionist movement, learning how artists use light, colour and atmosphere to bring a scene to life.
Inspired by painting en plein air, the students took their creativity outdoors, drawing and painting from observation.
By noticing sunlight, shadows and the changing details around them, they experienced firsthand how Impressionist artists worked.
This creative activity deepened their understanding of Impressionism while encouraging them to see the beauty in everyday moments.

Designed especially for children aged 7–13, tunBasel offers a playful and practical introduction to science, technology and innovation.
More than an exhibition, tunBasel gives young learners the chance to explore how curiosity, creativity and problem-solving come together.
Through interactive activities, ABS Basel pupils gain early insight into the many possibilities within science and technology.

Year 5 students at ABS Basel have been exploring Ancient Greece and recently completed a creative project: designing their own Ancient Greek scrolls.
The students researched different aspects of life in Ancient Greece and presented their findings in the style of traditional scrolls, reflecting how information was recorded in ancient times.
Topics included Greek mythology, famous philosophers, powerful gods and goddesses, daily life, and ancient inventions.
The project highlighted the students’ creativity, research skills, and historical understanding.

Curious minds, fresh forest air, and a small fire to build together🔥🌲
ABS Basel Kindergarten children spent the morning outdoors, discovering how to handle fire safely and responsibly.
Step by step, they learned how to prepare a safe fire area, carefully light a candle, and work together to build a small fire.
With patience, teamwork, and plenty of concentration, the fire slowly came to life.
After their hard work, everyone gathered around to warm up with spiced cider and enjoy toasted marshmallows – a cosy forest treat shared with friends.
A wonderful morning of outdoor exploration, teamwork, and practical life skills in nature.
