Santiglaus Visit and Christmas Door Decorations 🎅🚪
During the first week of December, the classes at ABS Basel worked on creating beautifully detailed Christmas door displays in the hope of impressing Santiglaus ahead of his visit.
The children enjoyed the crafting and decorating activities and later welcomed Santiglaus with festive songs. It was a joyful moment that brought the school community together and created a warm start to the season.

Bright skies ahead ☀️
The ABS Basel principal was pleased to see strong cross-curricular connections and purposeful writing in Year 5 last week.
Their Geography work on weather flowed naturally into writing real-world weather reports set in the local Swiss context — helped, no doubt, by the variety of weather Basel experienced over the past few days.

At ABS Winterthur, the Kindergarten and first grade enjoy a bunch of foresty fun every month. For them, there’s no such thing as “bad weather” when they head into the forest. Nothing beats the time they spend in nature.
They’ve listened to forest-themed fairytales, calculated the trees’ ages, built houses for forest fairies, and taken part in many other fun activities.

Numbers on the Move ✖️➗
Year 3 pupils at ABS Basel spent the week exploring doubling and halving as part of their multiplication learning.
Through active tasks, they strengthened their understanding of key number concepts and built confidence in applying them.
It was clear how much they enjoyed approaching maths in a hands-on way.

Book Week at ABS Basel was a real highlight. From sharing favourite stories and reading in fun, unexpected ways (even while walking!) to designing personalised book covers and guessing which childhood books the teachers once loved — it’s been a joyful week full of imagination and creativity.
